Game Debrief 123 – Mets vs Rockies

It must have been the sweep sounds of Colorado in the rocky mountain air or just the power house that was the Metropolitan line-up this weekend. The New York Mets completed the series sweep of the Rockies this afternoon at Coors Field with a 5-1 win.

Wolverine himself, Logan Verrett put together a Matt Harvey-esque performance with only allowing 1 ER over 8 IP. Logan’s final line looked as such 8 IP 4H 8K 1BB. What a job by the spot starter who has bounced around from the Mets to the Orioles to the Rangers back to the Mets all within a short amount of time.

The Mets offense scored all of their runs within the first 3 innings, also with help of erratic pitching from Rockies SP, David Hale. With Anthony Recker at the plate, Hale threw back to back wild pitches allowing the Mets to score 2 runs.

The Mets travel to the city of brotherly love to visit the “Phightin Phils.” And queue Captain America’s theme song, as tomorrow marks the return of the face of the franchise, David Wright.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM with Mets ace RHP Jacob deGrom (12-6, 1.98 ERA) being opposed by LHP Adam Morgan (4-4, 3.92)
